Fashion design is a “fashionable” profession that many young people want. However, not everyone who chooses this profession can go to the destination. The career opportunities are great but to get that opportunity, the most important thing must be oriented towards the future, the new success path is always open.
Below are the sharing of Nguyen Thi Ha Thu and Tran Lan Anh – the final year student of Fashion Design for Hoa Sen University for young people who are about to step into the field of fashion design.
Hello Ha Thu and Lan Anh, know that the two of you have just won the winner of the Youth Designer contest organized by the General Department of Tourism, Tourism Online and Dang Viet Entertainment. Through this competition, what did you learn?
– This contest is an interesting playground for design students, it has given me the opportunity to experience, to do the work of a true designer. Fashion is a luxury industry and extremely hard, only a few minutes shine on the stage but it is exchanged with sweat sweat for a whole month, if not really serious, it cannot be successful in that world. These are the things I experienced after the competition.
Can you tell us more about the product that you have struggled for months to “shine” on the stage at that time?
– I named the collection I designed called “The new face of pajama” (New face of pajama). Fashion messages that we send into this collection are: fashion regardless of gender. The New Face of Pajama “is designed according to the school of application: masculine, tomboy, suitable for both men and women. The collection brings a new perspective to pajamas, the kind of clothing that is just around the house or the bedroom.
How did you feel then?
– There are 10 collections to the final. When we heard the name of the vocalist at the championship, we broke and felt happy and felt extremely happy because we brought many emotions to the audience because of the creativity, passion and the way of the true designer .
As a senior in fashion design, how do you have an understanding of your future career?
– Fashion design profession is considered a hot job, because of the irresistible appeal of the glory in the public’s eyes, dynamism, creativity and high salary levels that are worth dreaming. However, the path to success of this profession is a long road, the two of them only set the first steps. The Vietnamese fashion industry is still quite young, along with the current training of human resources is considered “lack of technology” so most students after graduation must be very difficult to stick to the profession. Besides, Vietnam’s garment industry is developing very strongly, human resources are abundant and solid, but we still have to import clothes from Thailand, China and Korea a lot, more thoughtful. signs from France, America … so the local designers still do not have a worthy place in the market.

Over the four years of college, what kind of luggage did you accumulate for your career later?
– More than four years studying at Hoa Sen University is an extremely valuable time for me to learn, work and rub against the fashion industry of the world. It is from the professional training, along with the school-organized competitions that help me to inspire many ideas, creativity and passion for fashion. Thanks to that, I became more confident with the job after graduation. The best thing I have learned at Hoa Sen University is the opportunity to interact with extremely good teachers, with a completely different curriculum according to international standards. The curriculum is very heavy, forcing us to face high pressure, but it is completely beneficial for developing the ability to concentrate and work in this harsh industry.

What do you share with other young people who are about to step into fashion?
– This is a fairly open profession, and graduates have a very dynamic and attractive career opportunity. They can become designers, fashion journalists, trend proponents, fashion product exhibitors, fashion entrepreneurs or fashion stylists for stars, artists or politicians. … That shows the opportunity to come to a very big profession. According to me, this profession of creative skills, the hard work is very important, and the gift only makes up a small part. Therefore, just if you have passion, love + find a good learning environment, I believe you can completely become a designer right from the seat in school.
